Dear Students,

The Department of Entrepreneurship is one of the first departments in this field in Turkey. Our aim as the Department of Entrepreneurship is to equip you in three areas. n order to achieve this aim our education program has been prepared to train entrepreneurs who can:

• Successfully hand down their family business from one generation to the next,
• Successfully establish and develop their own business,
• Work in other companies and successfully comprehend the culture of the company in which they work.
•  

While some of our academic staff are full-time faculty members who are experts in their fields and have successful collaborations with the private sector; some of them are part-time instructors who work in private sector and have the competence to share their knowledge and experience with the academic world. All our academic staff are encouraged to carry out field studies in collaboration with various departments within our Faculty and University. Significant support and encouragement are also given to include undergraduate and graduate students in these field studies.

The Department of Entrepreneurship aims to initiate the students’ experience in the private sector during their education process by adding applied studies to compulsory and elective courses in the training program. It is no coincidence that our education program starts to focus on applied courses in the second year, this is the result of a new education approach specific to the field of entrepreneurship.

The Department of Entrepreneurship prepares family business owners and their heirs for domestic and foreign business opportunities by equipping them with social and corporate entrepreneurship skills through various vocational trainings, opportunities of learning more than one foreign language and overseas education as well as continuous collaborations with the private sector provided by İstanbul Kültür University.
